Privacy policy

2. Overview

The information pages of this website are static. The listing platform under /app/ offers optional user accounts (registration, login, posting listings); the addendum at /app/legal/privacy additionally applies. There is no online payment. No third-party fonts are loaded. Google Analytics is loaded only after your consent; maps are loaded only after a separate click.

3. Hosting and server logs

The website runs on a virtual server (VPS) at IONOS SE. When you visit, the web server processes technically necessary data (IP address, date and time, requested page, browser and system details, data volume) in server logs to deliver the site and detect abuse. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (secure and stable operation).

Retention: Server logs are rotated by file size (rotation at 10 MB per file, compressed); at most 10 rotated log files are kept and older ones are deleted automatically. The retention period is therefore not a fixed time span but depends on visitor volume.

4. Browser storage (localStorage)

We store only two entries in your browser, which are not sent to our server: your light/dark choice (cv-theme) and your decision on the statistics consent (cv-consent). They are technically necessary to remember your choice (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete them in your browser settings.

5. Contact by e-mail

The enquiry form creates an e-mail link (mailto). No form data is sent to our web server; your e-mail program opens and you send the message yourself. If you e-mail us (igor@ionn.de), we process your details to reply (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR) and keep them as long as needed to handle your request.

6. Google Analytics 4 (only with consent)

We ask for your consent on your first visit. Before you agree, neither the Google tag (gtag.js) is loaded nor any request is sent to Google. After you click “Accept”, we load Google Analytics 4 from Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (parent company: Google LLC, USA).

  • Settings: We ourselves send only page views (page_view); Enhanced Measurement is off. After your consent, Google Analytics may nevertheless automatically collect system events such as first_visit, session_start and user_engagement (Google). Google signals and user-provided data are off. In consent mode only analytics_storage is set to “granted”; ad_storage, ad_user_data and ad_personalization always stay “denied”.
  • Data sent: page address without parameters and fragment (#), page title, referrer (also without parameters and fragment), device and browser details, approximate location and an identifier from the cookie. According to Google, e-mail addresses and certain URL parameters are redacted client-side before data is sent to Google Analytics (Google). Form entries are not sent.
  • IP address: Google receives the IP address technically when your browser connects. According to Google, Google Analytics does not store individual IP addresses; they are used only for coarse location (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/12017362?hl=en). Full anonymity is therefore not promised.
  • Cookies: _ga and _ga_LWXM3LN5GF with the default lifetime of up to 2 years (https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/11397207?hl=en). If you withdraw consent, we delete these cookies.
  • Retention: event data and user data are kept in Google Analytics for 2 months (no reset on new activity). This does not apply to aggregated reports.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and § 25(1) TDDDG (consent). A transfer to Google LLC in the USA is possible. You can withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future via “Cookie/statistics settings” in the footer. More information: https://policies.google.com/privacy

7. Maps (MapLibre, OpenFreeMap, Amazon)

The interactive maps are loaded only after you click “Load map”; this choice is independent of the statistics consent. The map software (MapLibre GL JS) is served from our own server. After the click your browser connects to:

  • OpenFreeMap (tiles.openfreemap.org; Hyperknot Software Kft., Hungary) for map tiles and map style; your IP address is transmitted technically. Current privacy rules of the provider: https://openfreemap.org/privacy/
  • Amazon Web Services (s3.amazonaws.com) for elevation data (terrain tiles); your IP address is transmitted technically: https://aws.amazon.com/privacy/

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent by click). Without the click no connection is made; you can use the site without maps. Map data: © OpenStreetMap contributors.

8. Images and video

Photo and video on the home page are stored on our server (source: Pexels, licence credit on the page). No connection to Pexels is made when you visit.

9. External links

When you click external links, the privacy policies of the respective operators apply.

10. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Arts. 15–21 GDPR). You may withdraw consent at any time for the future. Write to igor@ionn.de.
